SEO errors caused by appending slider

Hello,

I have Agency template redevelopped into workable site. But when I tried to start SEO using Yoast it alerted me about a few nasty errors.

After experimenting I realised that header slider with text is considered by Yoast and most likely by search engines as a first heading/paragraph. My home pages has a lot of matching keywords and text in general. But errors pointing to the revslider e.g. not enough words. See attached list of errors.

The focus keyword appears in revslider - CCTV. it also appears in further text content on the page.

My question how to make search engines and Yoast plugin to recognise all the text below the revslider area and get better SEO config (no errors)?

Hi there,

Thanks for writing in.

What texts are not recognized by Yoast SEO? Please note that the texts in your site are recognizable by search engines except Yoast. Yoast analyzes your backend content and not the front page of your site, whereas Search engines analyze the front of your site. Hence, those errors aren’t accurate.

An example is adding an image element as a shortcode (eg. [image src=""] ) in Wordpress editor ( not the builder ). And Yoast will not recognize it as a valid image. Same goes when you use a headline shortcode, and it will not be recognized as a valid headline. But those shortcodes are part of the backend, Wordpress execute it and rendered in the front end as final HTML code. So the [image] shortcode is then converted to <img>, the same goes for headlines and texts. Hence, search engines see them correctly, and there is no way a Search Engine could analyze what’s on your backend, so the basis of the analysis of SEO Yoast isn’t that accurate.

Thanks!

Not sure about this. I bough Yoast Local SEO add on for $70. These errors are poinint to the text within slider. Why would the paid version look into the backend content. I will check what Yoast says about my errors. Thanks for clarifiyng it.

One more thing you may be able to check for me, If I disabled the copy from my site, will it impact SEO crawler?

Hi there,

I’m not sure either why they do that, maybe it’s due to performance since it’s easier to pull the content from the backend than scraping the live page. It’s been like that and there was a long discussion about that. A sample of that https://github.com/Yoast/wordpress-seo/issues/3360, which still happening as of today.

I’m not sure about the Slider though, but it could be related since it starts with the shortcode too.

It’s best to contact SEO Yoast as we don’t have control over how they analyze the content. It will have an impact, it’s best to test it in a cloned site of yours.

Thanks!
