Section's Background Video not covering the whole area anymore - PRO 2.1.4

Hello,

just upgraded to PRO 2.1.4.

Background videos in Sections do not cover the whole area anymore, showing lateral bands where you can see the underlying background image or colour.

It seems like the video is maintaining its size ratio aspect without adapting to the background size.

Also, videos are not autoplaying anymore?

How can i solve this?

Thanks

Hi There,

This issue has been fixed in the latest version of Pro theme.

I could see that you’ve updated your theme to the latest version as well.

Regards!

Hi Thai yes size ratio is now fixed thank you!

But i noticed that videos aren’t autoplaying yet.

Please try to reproduce the issue as following (Chrome or Edge) :

1. Clear browser chache
2. go to the page, the video correctly autoplays
3. Refresh the page
4. The video doesn’t autoplay anymore (or sometimes it randomly does), there is a static image instead

Can you confirm this issue?

Thanks

Hello @Draxdes,

Thanks for updating the thread.

On my end, I can see video is auto playing perfectly fine. Please see screencast. https://cloudup.com/coTIuF9okmy

Thanks.

Have you tried refreshing the page several time?

It happens 50% of the times on my config (win10+chrome or win10+edge)

Thanks

Hello There,

On the first load of the page, the video will autoplay. As soon as you refresh the page, it will now be paused because the user’s Media Engagement Index threshold has been crossed, meaning the user has previously played video. This is how modern browses works for better user experienced. Please check out this browser documentation regarding the autoplay policy: https://developers.google.com/web/updates/2017/09/autoplay-policy-changes

Hope this helps.

If it’s a browser behaviour, then why on /en/real-estate/ it plays everytime it is refreshed?

Thanks

Hey @Draxdes,

The issue happens to your /en/real-estate also. See https://youtu.be/5KTroiwh6fE. I tried to replicate this in my test site but the video always auto-plays regardless of page reloads. Looks like there’s something in your setup that is causing the issue. Would you mind setting up a test site at http://poopy.life/ and replicate your page there? This is so we could check if the issue will persist even with fresh WordPress install without plugins and customizations.

Thanks.

Hi Christian,

thank you for your feedback.

Will set up a test website and get back to you.

Thanks

Thanks @Draxdes, we will be waiting.
