Section Seperator

Hi Guys, still very happy with this theme but I have hit a bit of a road block.

I have been having some issues with the Section Seperator element, and a couple of other issues.

First issue, the section seperator issue.

A few months back I built a page with angled seperators on the top and the bottom of a section, and it worked fine.

More recently, just before I upgraded to PRO, I found that X would not create the same type of seperator anymore… to clarify, you could use cornerstone to enable and create the section seperator. However only the top seperator would display correctly, and the bottom seperator would not display at all.

After wasting a couple of days trying to fix this issue, I upgraded to PRO hoping a fresh theme would fix the issue.
Unfortunately this has not solved the issue, and now the section seperators are more broken than they were before.

I have tried the usual problem solving such as deactivating plugins. I do not have any cache plugins or services, and I made sure to flush the browser and hosting cache.

The section seperators do not look like they are starting on the edge of the section. It looks like they are starting a few pixels in so there is a band of the section background running through or behind them, including a few other graphical errors, such as design inversion.

I have changed the colour of two of the seperators on the about page on my site to make the issue clearer… top red, bottom green, and will provide login details.

Second issue, menu logo and menu out of alignment.

Before I upgraded to pro the menu and menu logo were correctly aligned and seemed to work responsively too.
Now the menu is not centered as it should be, and the small logo in the menu bar section is not left aligned as it should be?

Third issue, orange loading icon in cornerstone.
Not every time, but occasionally at random, the loading icon that appears in the bottom right corner of the page while saving when using cornerstone or the pro builder… it sometimes appears orange instead of grey and I’ve no idea why?
Now I wouldn’t particularly care about this issue, but a while ago one of my pages backgrounds suddenly turned the same colour of orange, and I had to delete the page and make a new one to fix the issue as nothing else would turn it back to being the right colour.

If we can fix this together that would be great as I am running out of time to have this site finished.

Thanks for writing in. For the first and third issue, please try updating to the latest version of Pro as numerous bug fixes have been added and this might fix the issue.

For the second issue, I don’t see any layout problem with your logo and menu. Would you mind providing screenshots?

Also, if you could break each of your issues to separate threads, that would be best as it will avoid confusion if the thread goes longer and resolving issues would be a bit faster for you and also for us, support, as well.

I have updated to the latest version of PRO and the issue with the section seperator has improved.

The top section seperator is working once again.

The bottom section seperator is working more than it was… I think the only issue with this part of the element now is its z index… if I remove the image background from the section below the section that has the section seperators on, it then becomes visible… so the bottom section seperator is there on the page, it is just hidden behind the background of the next section. So how do we fix that? I’m guessing we need to change the z index?

issue 3 I shall keep an eye on and open another ticket if need be thanks.

As for issue 2, the menu is not center aligned on my screen, and the logo is not aligned to the left as it should be, please find an image attached. You can see the menu is further over to the right hand side of the screen than it should be… it appears like this on several different systems.

Hey @Boogledash,

Regarding the separator, I tried removing the image background as you described but the result was the same as the front-end (see secure note).

Regarding the logo alignment, I still don’t see the issue. Maybe it is very subtle? Please try using the Logo Alignment option in Theme Options > Header

The red “top” section seperator element works fine, it’s the green “bottom” section seperator that is misbehaving

You can see in the two screen shots in the secure notes that in the first picture, the background layers for the section beneath are active and the green seperator can not be seen.

Then in the next you can see that I have disabled the background layers of the below section, and now you can see the green section seperator that belongs to the section above. The same section the red seperator belongs to. Definately seems like a z index issue, as the green seperator is appearing behind the layers of the neighboring section below. I’m just not quite sure how to fix that in PRO?

Ah, I think the reason you may not be seeing the issue could be a screen resolution / responsive discrepancy? Not to worry though, as you got me looking in the right place which I appreciate, and while I was there I noticed that I was using a legacy header! Apparently PRO lets you build headers from the ground up too which is pretty neat, so have built a new header from scratch this morning which circumvents the prior issue!

Thanks for updating the thread.

I changed z-index values of the section in question and now green bottom separator is showing up fine. Please see screencast. I have saved the changes I made in the z-index values.
