Section not showing up correctly + Preview Unresponsive

Hello I am working on this site: akronsocietyofartists.org
I currently have 2 problems:

  1. I have a section at the top of the homepage that is meant to be a “banner” image- stretched across the top, showing the entire image no matter what size the screen is. You’ll notice that currently it looks very small and cropped. However, when I am in Cornerstone it looks the way I want it to look (I can send screenshots if necessary). But again, when I am not in Cornerstone it looks like this. How do I fix it?

  2. Occasionally, I go in to Cornerstone to edit a page or post and get this message:
The preview was unresponsive after loading. This is most often related to a plugin conflict or aggressive page cacheing.
I am not manually cacheing the page and I disabled my cache plugin. I have also tried disabling all other plugins but still (sometimes) get this message.

Hi there,

Thanks for writing in.

I checked and it’s empty which is why it appears cropped, I’m assuming you’re referring to the background image from the first section. Would you mind providing your login credentials in a secure note? I can’t find anything from the front.

Thanks!

I just sent login credentials. Let me know if you have trouble getting in.
I am also sending screenshots of what I want it to look like/ what it looks like in Cornerstone (ss1) and what it actually looks like when I’m not in cornerstone (ss2)

Hi there,

Ah, it’s really empty, you should add gap element to it with your preferred size.

Please note that empty elements will appear larger in cornerstone preview so you could easily drag and drop elements to it. If it has no height then you’re not able to add elements or inspect it. It’s normal behavior, please add gap element so it will have the height.

Thanks!

Ok, now it’s working on the Homepage. But I want this section to be the same on every page and am running into some problems- I saved the homepage header section as a template and uploaded it to another page but it doesn’t look the same. Here is a screen shot of the “Join ASA” page- Why isn’t it stretching the image to fit the width of the page like on the homepage?

Hi There,

That is because unlike the home page, your other pages were using a Default page template which has a container. Please use a Blank - No Container, Header | Footer instead.

Hope that helps,
Cheers!

Ok, great- that helped me with a couple of the pages. . . but every time I fix one thing I notice another weird, random problem. Right now the slider on my homepage is not displaying a few of the images- but when I go into Cornerstone, they are there and everything seems to be working fine. This is a frustrating thing I have come across several times- something looking correct in Cornerstone and then disappearing when I log out. Can you take a look at the homepage: http://akronsocietyofartists.org/ and tell me if the slider is working?

Hi there,

I checked your website and there are few images that are not loaded:

They are getting a 400 error which is a server related one. For more information about error 400:

It might be due to the fact that your hosting service provider imposes a mod_security restrictions. Please contact them and ask for help regarding the case.

Also, whenever you see a difference in the Front-end of the website when you are logged out vs when you are logged in be sure that it is because of the cache.

You need to purge the plugin cache and deactivate any kind of cache or optimization plugin. also, you need to contact your hosting service provider and ask them to do the same from their side.

I suggest that for the specific issues you have opened up separate threads so we can focus on each case better.

Thank you.

Ok, I have one more question that actually pertains to my original question so it makes sense to include it in this thread. . .
I have added my banner image to the top of every page, but cannot get it on the “News” (blog) page. I tried doing it in Cornerstone like I did with the other pages, but the section just doesn’t show up. What is the trick to editing the look of a blog page?

Hi There,

Unfortunately, Blog index page cannot be edited in ANY content builder, even in the classic Wordpress text editor you cant edit it.

That page is using a special template (different from normal page template), You need to create your own home.php template if you want to modify the layout of the Blog index page.

Template Files

Regretfully, this is something that we cannot provide support with.

Thank you for understanding,
Cheers!
