Secondary menu using Navigation elements

Hi,

I’m using X (not Pro) to create a secondary menu on my event page, like this:

https://www.andrewcohen.com/events/second-tier-leadership-retreat-april-2020/

I’ve used the “sticky anything” plugin to make the Navigation Inline sticky. I’ve also added a Navigation Modal menu element which activates at mobile screen widths.

I’m wondering if the Navigation Modal can be customised so that it behaves like the standard mobile menu on the main navigation header? The navigation would be much more efficient if it could drop down rather than appearing in a popup as it does currently.

Many thanks in advance for your help.

Hi Michael,

Thanks for writing. Unfortunately, this is no option that comes out of the box with the Navigation Modal element to do what you are trying to do because the modal element will always display as a modal, thus its name.

It could be possible with custom development, but this would be outside the scope of support we can offer. You may wish to consult a developer to assist you with this. X is quite extensible with child themes, so there are plenty of possibilities.

Thanks for understanding. Take care!

@Jade

Thanks for your response, can you suggest another solution to my question? I’m thinking there must be a way to achieve this, perhaps with one of the other Navigation elements and some custom CSS? Or maybe with one of the bundled extensions?

Thanks again for your help.

Hi Michael,

Unfortunately, I can confirm @Jade’s answer that there’s no available feature or bundled plugins that will achieve this at the moment. It will really require a customization. I did check the site you share and it might be built with this: https://github.com/senff/Sticky-Anything or a plugin that is based on that.

I will add a feature request for this one so it can be available for consideration. We cannot promise it will be added right away but rather the idea will be available to the developers.

Hi @Lely

I am already using Sticky Anything as mentioned in my first post, but this plugin is only designed to create a sticky element - it has no other purpose.

What I’m looking for is a way to create a secondary drop-down burger menu. Could this perhaps be achieved with Pro?

Hey Michael,

Yes this can be achieved with Pro quite easily by adding another Bar in your Header and make it Sticky

You can then add Navigation Inline element for the desktop screens and Navigation Dropdown or Navigation Collapsed element for smaller screens inside the bar. Hope this helps!
