Want to be able to let users search my whole site, as they can now, but be able to pull up essential grid items that should be found. Right now it says nothing found, even though I am looking at the grid item. I don’t want search on just grid page for projects, I want to use x themes built in default search to search everything on my site. Is this a setting that needs to be turned on or custom coding? Not finding much other then post discussions and that’s not relevant here.

Thanks for writing in! By default, the essential grid will not display in search results. You will need to enable WP search to include other custom post types such as the Essential Grid. I would recommend that you use 3rd party plugin instead. Perhaps this one may help you:
