Search Results Page Not Showing Correct Query Results - Layout Builder

I’m trying to create a search page using the layout builder, but am having trouble with it showing the search query that was entered.

Here is the website I’m trying it on: https://www.pinetarpress.com/?s=tee.

I need it to filter out the posts based on the search query typed into the search bar.

Thank you!

Hello @segalomedia,

Thanks for writing.

To get your issue resolve, please remove the Looper Provider. You only need a Looper Consumer when building an archive, blog index or search results page.

Hey, we don’t actually have the looper provider toggled on for this. Could it be something else?

Hi @segalomedia,

I have checked the Search Result page using a few more searches, and found it is showing correctly. Please remember that the search term can be present in the Title and the Content both.

Thanks

Is it possible to organize the results? Because there are times when I’m searching for let’s say “softball bats,” and the article that should pop up as most relevant is one of the very bottom results. And the one showing first may have one tiny mention of “softball bats” in the body content.

Hello @segalomedia,

If that is the case, you will be needing 3rd party plugin for that. Perhaps the WordPress repository can help:

Is it possible for these plugins to work alongside the Layout Builder? Or would this have to be something separate? I really like how the layout builder can display the results, I just need to search results to be a lot more precise and exact.

Hi @segalomedia,

The plugins mostly show the results in the Search Result page, and if you added the Layout to that, you can see the result in that.

Thanks
