I need to have a block on the front page which allows readers to search posts by category.

I’d like the block to have 3 columns,. For example, column 1 is about wellness living. The search categories pertinent to wellness living are, for example, clutter, sleep and food. By clicking on one of those categories, the reader would see a list ( hopefully with featured image and excerpt) of the titles.

Is this possible?

You can show posts by category using the Classic Recent Posts element.

To search posts by category you can use a third-party plugin from here https://wordpress.org/plugins/. Please note that we have not tested the plugin at our end and we don’t provide any third-party plugin support. It is out of the support scope.
