Search function

Hi

The search function on sarahmccrum.com is behaving oddly: If the search term “Karma” is entered into the menu bar search field, no results page is shown, even though there are plenty of blog articles that use the term. Instead, there’s an immediate jump to a landing page that has “karma” in it’s URL.

For i.e. “money”, search is working as expected.

Any idea what’s going on here?

Kind regards,
c

Hi Princias,

Thanks for writing in! Upon testing, I see a strange behavior for your karma keyword and I also see that your search result page is overridden with some other page template on your server. It could be a custom script or a 3rd party plugin as well.

Could you please disable your 3rd party plugins except Cornerstone and re-test your issue again. If the issue is resolved, then you can enable your plugins one by one to see which plugin cause this issue.

If you have added any custom JavaScript, you need to remove them as well and test your issue further.

Let us know how it goes.
Thanks!

Thanks! The issue is triggered by ONTRApages plugin. We’re asking them to check it out, but maybe you guys would like to do the same, since Ontraport is a pretty popular service.

Hey @Princias,

Please be advised that we are only a theme. We do not modify any of the search functions or the search results. We rely on the WordPress search and its results.

Regards.
