Search Enabled in Global Settings - not aligning horizontally through centre

Hi there
Can anyone please let me know why when you enable search in Global settings that it drops underneath the rest of the header menu items, rather than aligning through the centre? I’m asking on here for another mate who is also a Cornerstone customer but has gone into labour this morning - the site is www.kauwaka.co.nz
Thanks in advance
Cheers
Kiri

Hello Kiri,

Thanks for writing in! The Search Icon issue has occurred because you are using the Uber Menu plugin. If you use the default navigation menu, it should align fine. Since you used the Uber Menu plugin, you will have to add a search menu item in your Navigation Menu itself and not rely on the Theme Options.

Best Regards.

Thanks so much @ruenel! All fixed now but I also wanted to ask you about our search results page e.g. https://bowlsnewzealand.co.nz/?s=twilight. I think the layout is very klunky and I would like to know how I could get it looking more like the search results for https://kauwaka.co.nz/?s=whakapa+mai where the headlines are less “loud” and you see a snippet of the post, article, page etc. How might I achieve this? Is this because of our global theme settings?

Thanks

Hello Julie,

Both sites are using the same Renew stack. They may differ in the global settings which is why the search results page looks different. I would recommend that you check the global settings for each site and copy it over to the 1st site.

Best Regards.

Are the global settings in Cornerstone or WordPress? Where should I be looking please?

Thanks

Hi Julie,

It is in Cornerstone > Theme Options. You can compare the settings for both sites.

Best Regards.
