Search doesn't work

Hi,
I have a problem with the search widget. I click on the search field in order to start typing something, but the search field is just clipping and it doesn’t allow me to type anything.
(Same thing is happening with the tag boxes, maybe this info would help for a diagnose - when I click a tag box in a post, the box is clipping and nothing happens).

I’m using Pro. The only external plugins are Akismet and Cornerstone Modal - I use them on other websites, so I don’t think there is any conflict.

It is an internal website own by an organisation and it has access limitation based on IPs, so you will not be able to see it or to visit the admin area… So, I hope you can guide me to solve this problem based on my problem description only.

Thanks,
Andrei

Hi there,

Would you mind providing us with login credentials so we can take a closer look? To do this, you can make a post with the following info:

– Link to your site
– WordPress Admin username / password

Don’t forget to use secured notes for that information.

Thanks!

As I told you, It is an internal website own by an organisation and it has access limitation based on IPs, so you will not be able to see it or to visit the admin area… So, I hope you can guide me to solve this problem based on my problem description only.

Hi there,

Since you’re using Pro, cornerstone or any of its extension won’t work and may cause issues. Please deactivate Cornerstone Modal, and make sure you’re using the latest Pro.

Since we can’t examine your site, you have to give us some kind of visual examples so that we can understand the issue.

Thanks.

Please take a look:

Hi There,

Provide the URL so we can take a closer look.

If the access is limited, let us know how can we access the front end.

Thank you

You can take a look on the behaviour here:

Hi There,

It is quite hard to understand what is hapenning without access to the site.

This is not a common issue and has not been reported by other users.

You could try testing for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third party plugins, and seeing if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.

Let us know how it goes!

I did the plugins exercise. The problem is still there.
I’m stuck, and I really need the search function for this site…

Unless you’re providing your site’s access, we cannot investigate further and cannot provide you a proper solution.

Thanks for understanding.

Could you give me an IP? I will try to give access for your IP.

Hi Andrei,

The staff are working in different parts of the world and another staff might handle this ticket the next time so we can’t really provide a specific IP address.

I also tried checking the link that you have provided but it seems like the video access is private or restricted.

In order for us to provide some suggestion, we will need to be able to see the issue that you have mentioned.

Thank you.
