Search by page ID?

Wondering if it is possible to search for pages I need to work on inside of Cornerstone by their ID rather than their title? A site I manage has a lot of pages that are named the same. They have different locations and each has a “Services” page for example. I need a way to reliably search for the one I want.

I used to just navigate to the page in the front end and open Cornerstone from there. But now with the tabbed interface directly in the builder, I wanna use the native search while in there to find pages like this.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

I also think that pages that are in Draft should be labeled as such somehow. Maybe displayed in a slightly different color or something. Or have the ability filter them away while searching. I like that they are there but thia does clutter things up sometimes.

Searching by post ID works on my end.

Regarding your other concern about draft pages, that is not yet a feature in Pro so I’ll list it as a feature request.

Yeah, that does not do anything for me. I get no results after trying on a couple of different sites. In one case, I tried searching for “2”, the ID of the homepage and it returned both a Header and Footer I have setup. After seeing this erroneous result, I created a test page with the ID of 36 and tried searching for it. I made sure it was in the list of pages under All Documents before trying to search for “36”. Once I did, no results were returned.

Are you sure that the “About” page from you example is actually ID 2243? Simply getting a result does not mean it is the right result.

For me, this just doesn’t work. Theres nothing special going on in functions and there are no plugins to speak of. In fact, this is a blank install that I use as a starting point for my builds. Can you please tell me what might be going on here? Need a away to reliably search for items in CS by ID.

As a feature request, I could envision something like a breakout mode for this interface where, if I need to see/interact with more granular detail, I can toggle that on or off based on my needs. Keeping things clean visually is important but we need a way to see/do more if the site demands it.

We will add this as a feature request to have a better search capability when you are in the builder. We cannot guarantee when can this be added to the theme. rest assured that our developers will be made aware of this request.
