We have a very big websites. At the moment, we change provider and a lot of links needs to be replace. Is it safe just to find and replace those links using a plugin? I am worried content will be corrupted.

That’s what we do. But, it’s best that you have a backup to restore just in case.

That means it’s safe because we’re also doing it. 
But, please just note that you’ll be working with your database and it’s also possible that you’ll mess things up if you’re not familiar.
