Revolution Slider will not disable

I have a Slider Revolution slider below my header on my home page. When I try to disable it or switch it to a different slider, the changes do not take effect. I tried deleting the actual slider from within Slider Revolution, and now I just see a red box with an error.

In the page settings, both Slider Settings:Above Masthead and Slider Settings: Below Masthead indicate Deactivated.

I originally created this page when I had X, (before upgrading to Pro). Now that I have Pro, I wonder if there was a conflict between the old X and the new Pro? Or perhaps there’s another area I’m supposed to look for selecting sliders?

Here is my version report: (Not sure why I’m not getting auto updates…)

Just to clarify, if I select a new slider in either of those dropdown menus, nothing changes, I still see the red box with the error.

When I deactivate Slider Revolution, I can see the shortcode injected under the masthead.

Digging further, I explored my database. I ran an SQL query:

SELECT * FROM `wp_postmeta` WHERE `meta_key` = "_x_slider_below"

and found a handful of rows, one of which showed a meta-value of “shome”, which is the slider that kept trying to display. I manually deleted this row, and that seemed to fix the problem.

Seems like this may have been an issue created during the upgrade to Pro? I’m interested in getting your thoughts on this, and why this row seemed to be “stuck”, even though I was actively changing the slider in the page options…

Hi There,

Thanks for writing in! It seems that the setting is not updated properly.

Can you also try editing through WordPress backend pages section.

Then deactivate your sliders and update the page. In case if you see it’s already deactivated, you can enable once and deactivate again.

Also if you’re using any caching plugin, make sure to purge your server cache and also clear your browser cache before testing.

Let us know how it goes.
Thanks!

I am aware of clearing cache, thanks.

I tried as you suggested, switching the slider settings from within the Wordpress page backend, and that seemed to work. Thank you.

You’re welcome.
