Revolution slider - white space to the right of the slides

Hi Apex,

I have a Revolution slider on my home page: the-earlybird.co.

The slider was displaying fine in all browsers and mobile until about 6 months ago, when this white space appeared to the right of the slides in browsers (chrome, firefox, edge). I assume this was due to some update to the plugin or theme. I fixed it in Chrome and Firefox (but not Edge) by playing around with the settings under Module General Settings - Layout.

Now it has happened again (without my changing any settings and presumably due to another update). I can’t remember what I changed last time and changing any settings now makes no difference. E.g. Under Layout, changing Type or Sizing makes no difference; under Layer Area size, switching off and on the viewports and changing the widths. No difference. I have checked all forum responses here and tried reading the Themepunch documentation and youtube tutorials to no avail.

Please help!

Hello @Earlybird97,

Thanks for writing in! It appears that you have installed Jetpack plugin. You are having this issue because of the Site Accelerator feature that were enabled in Jetpack plugin. The Site Accelerator will cached all your images and sometimes it has some problems loading the images. One of the limitations of photons:

No cache invalidations – currently the images are cached “forever”.
If you want to “refresh” an image you will need to change the name of the image.
Adding random query arguments, commonly known as cachebusters, will not work.

You can check it here: https://jetpack.com/support/site-accelerator/ for further information.

For the time being, please disable Site Accelerator module and test your site again. You will find that the full images will be displayed without a hitch.

If nothing is helping, provide us access to your site so that we can check your settings. Please create a secure note with the following info:

Hi RueNel, I tried that - disabling site accelerator, cleared all caches and unfortunately that didn’t help. Have sent you my site credentials in a secure note.

Hello @Earlybird97,

I have successfully log in to your site and resolved your slider issue. It turns out that you haven’t set the layout to Fullwidth. I went ahead and corrected the issue.

Please check your site now.

It’s working now thanks. Believe me, I tried that many times over and over, changing the type, sizing, layer area size, clearing all caches and browser caches, so I can’t explain how that has occurred. Anyway, thanks for your time and getting it resolved.

We’re glad it’s working now.

Cheers!
