Revolution Slider: set single slide width

Hi there,

I used a carousel slider and want to use landscape images on the one hand and portrait images on the other hand. When I set the slide width to 700 px I will automatically get slides where the background image will only be about 300 px (because I want the images to be shown in their full height). In order to that I get some black space between the single slides.

How can I get rid of that black space and/or to automatically scale the slide width depending on the image width?

Thanks for writing in.

It’s the aspect ratio, it’s similar to uploading a video in a youtube and you get black area since the video size doesn’ t match the player’s aspect ratio. The solution for that is uploading an image with similar aspect ratio.

I checked your existing image and it’s height is 826px, the carousel item has aspect ratio of 140 : 81. Hence, the correct image size for that is 1428x826 (a landscape rectangle instead of square image). Please upload an image of that size.

Or do you wish to use square image? Then increase your grid’s height equal to 700px (its current width).

Hi there,

I guess we have a little misunderstanding here. I want to eliminate the black space between the singles slides and also be able to upload images with different formats (vertical and horizontal) to that slider but still retain the height of the images (so there will be no cropping on the top or bottom - e. g. the mike tyson image).

The layer grid size in the slider settings is 700px x 405px. When I put an image (horizontal format) into a slide, there will be less space on the left and right of the slide. When I put an image (vertical format) into a slide, there will be more space on the left and right of the slide.

I did checked the slider setting and documentation, but didn’t find a solution that you are looking for.
The slides are always be same size never takes its image or content size. So you have to upload equal size image to avid gap and crop.
