Is it possible to have the revolution slider only play on first entry of the site so it won’t play the animation when you jump between pages and back?

Unfortunately, this option is not available by default. Every time you load a page, an instance of the slider will load too. It might be possible with customization by maybe adding cookies on the browser but it would be outside the scope of our support. You might need to consult a developer to achieve this.
Another alternative is consider using one page only. Then to navigate on your content, use tabs element. This is not ideal on large sites or you have multiple long pages though.
