Is it possible to have Revolution Slider perform its animation one time per visit, so that the slide doesn’t reload when the visitor reloads the page within the same site visit?
The behaviour I want is for the animation to occur the first time a user loads the homepage, and not again while they are still on the site. If they were to leave the site and return later, the animation would load again.

Thank you for reaching out to us. I believe you can turn off the loop animation in the slider settings (see https://www.themepunch.com/revslider-se-doc/layer-animations-timeline/#loop-animations)
However restricting the animation per visit could be possible with custom development, but this would be outside the scope of support we can offer. You may wish to consult a developer to assist you with this. X is quite extensible with child themes, so there are plenty of possibilities.
