Revolution Slider - First Load - Disappearing Layers

Hi Guys,

In many cases I experience issues with before after slider I use on my website www.digitallab.ie main page.

Have checked that on every major browser, different computers, deactivated plugins, especially wt3 total cache and it’s minify components.

To no avail.

When the slider loads first time, some layers just go missing, it has to be reloaded and in most cases then it is fine,

however this solution is far from ideal.

Can you let me know what steps can I take to resolve this big issue?

Kind regards,

Michal

Hi Michal,

I did check your site and the slider on top is displaying fine. No errors too when I check the console. Can you give us screenshots comparing the missing layers?

Hi,

Thanks for your reply. This happens randomly, my computer doesn’t show the issue however the less powerful the machine is the more often it happens. Firefox looks to be most stable, chrome almost always loses a few layers, sometimes even the whole after layer isn’t displayed, opera very similar, edge looks ok most of the time.

I would hint to please try the link on a few different computers and different browsers to see the results.

Kind regards,

Michal

Hi There,

Would mind adding this in your wp-config.php located at the root directory of your site.

define( ‘WP_MEMORY_LIMIT’, ‘256M’ );
define( ‘WP_MAX_MEMORY_LIMIT’, ‘512M’ );

You can add it before the line

/* That’s all, stop editing! Happy blogging. */

Here you have a video tutorial in any case:

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks

Hi Joao,

I have those exact values included in the wp-config.php

It seems that the better the cpu the bigger the chance, no layers will be lost.

Intel i3 and above look to be 100%, core 2 duo, core 2 quad similar, one core cpus have the biggest issues, pantiums celerons etc

Hi there,

Yes, the more features, animation, and effects that are active the same time, the more processing load it requires to run those. I checked and yes, your site is loaded with many effects and animation. Javascript runs in user’s browser and uses the CPUs of that machine, the same thing that some features are not applicable for mobile since their processing power is not the same in the desktop. It’s slow in my intel atom device, so yes, will be slower on single cpu device.

Thanks!

Hi,

I absolutely understand it will be slower and my slider doesn’t use any more layers than in the default before/after slider. I do not mind it being slower, which is understandable, my problem as stated clearly before is that Some Layers Go Missing. I think I have found a workaround by delaying the load of some of the layers however this is not the ultimate solution I believe.

Thank you for your replies thus far.

Hi there,

We’ll check into that too. Yes, adding some delays on some part will guarantee that they will not be executed at the same time. Giving more room to CPU processing.

Thanks!

Hi Guys,

Did you have time to look at the problem of disappearing layers?

The delays have worked really good btw.

I have a small issue with card cornerstone element in internet explorer.

It shows both sides at one, I tried the css that was provided by themeco support re some other

support queries but didn’t work.

Any chance you can take a look? Card element, internet explorer, main page.

Kind regards,

Michal

Hi Michal,

This issue with Card Element on IE is a known issue and has been reported to our developers.

They are looking into it.

Please bare with us.

Thank you

Hi
Could you please elaborate on how exactly the delays have helped you? I’m experiencing the same problem, i.e. some layers not showing on slower machines.

please email me info@digitallab.ie

Will do. Thanks in advance

Thanks for helping the community!

No problem Joao, thanks for your help. I’ve tried the revolution slider on https://kandynation.com and no issues whatsoever.

We’re glad that everything’s set on your site, @ferdynusmichal.
