Rev Slider Transitions Not Working Properly

I have a second slider setup for sliders in mobile.
I would like the transitions to be horizontal, but there is no horizontal movement, they just fade. I want to remove the fade and have them slide horizontally.

Hello Justin,

Thanks for writing in!

Please take a look at following resources and setup Revolution Slider accordingly.

https://www.themepunch.com/revsliderjquery-doc/slide-transitions/

https://revolution.themepunch.com/documentation/joomla/slider-settings/index.html

Thanks.

I need some help understanding: what information should I be taking away from the first link?

Also, the second link is for joomla. I scanned through it but did not find anything that explained the issues I was experiencing.

Hello Justin,

The second link is an older version which is using Joomla as their content management system.
Please check this link instead:

Hope this helps.

I’m sorry, it is not helpful. I have the sliders set to move horizontally, globally. They won’t do it.

I don’t understand what step I am missing.

Hi Justin,

It was because the easing speed is zero, it happens on instant.

I went ahead and changed it to 800 and it’s now scrolling horizontally. And to make it more fluid, I recommend changing the Easing option to different one rather than the linear (the current easing).

Thanks!

That was very helpful. We’re almost there. The way it scrolls now is exactly what I was after.

However, when I swipe on my phone or simulate swiping left and right on my desktop the screen is black and the image appears after a delay. How do we make swiping behave identically to the way it naturally scrolls: with each slide side by side at the edges with no black or delay?

Hello Justin,

Each of the slides has a duration of at least 6 seconds before the layer elements next slide will load. This is why there is a black slide after you swipe in mobile devices. To resolve this, you will have to shorten the easing speed to zero.

Please check your slider in the mobile device now.

Yes, that makes the swiping left and right behave correctly. How can we keep this AND have it automatically scroll edge to edge without interaction? (currently they have no transition from slide to slide, just appear).

Hello Justin,

If you add a slide transition, you’ll be back to a blank black background slide. Each transition will have a duration so during that duration a blank black background will display until the slide is loaded and the transition is finish.

Hope this make sense.

Interesting.

Is there a way for us to get the transitions to work the same on the desktop version?

Hello Justin,

You may apply the same transition of the desktop instead of the current sliding transition of your slider for mobile. You can find this in the General Settings.

Hope this helps.

Hello,

None of the transition effects seem to be working. The slide just blips to the next slide.

Hi Justin,

Two things why your setup is not going to work, 1) Slide Animations/Transitions are applied to the slide’s main background image, your slides have no main background image, but only a transparent, so you’ll never see this animations/transitions (Slide Animation).

You either need to make your images as the slide’s background or apply the Animations on your Image Layers (See SlideMaskFromRright animation) that is the closer animation to Simple Slide Horizontal transition.

  1. Your Slider is set to be a Carousel and Carousel slider loads its slides all at once (view your mobile-slider on desktop to know what I mean) so with this you’ll not see your slide animate because it already did even before its turn to slide, set your Slider Type to Standard Slider instead.

Hope it helps,
Cheers!

Interesting. I wish there was a way to change a slide and its entire contents to behave a certain way, rather than having to animate each layer individually. This works out though, thank you.

Hi Justin,

Usually, that is set up as the image as the main background and the text as layers.

Glad we could help,
Cheers!
