Rev Slider 'Oops…' message on iPad mini

Hi there,

I’ve updated the Rev Slider on this site/page: https://frameworkers.co.uk/oak-framed-extensions-sherborne/

and now I get an ‘Oops…’ error message on my iPad Mini and my clients’ iPad which is the same model/Os etc.:

iPad Mini
Year: Late 2012
Model: A1432
Os: 9.3.5 (13G36)

Error message:
'Oops…You have some jquery.js library include that comes after the Slider Revolution files js inclusion.
To fix this, you can:

1. Set ‘Module General Options’ --> ‘jQuery & Output Filters’ --> ‘Put JS to Body’ to on
2. Find the double jQuery.js inclusion and remove it.’

I’ve done number 1 in the above instructions, but I don’t know how to do number 2. Could you advise how I can fix this error please?

Hi @TheoryUnit,

Thanks for reaching out.

It shouldn’t be a device specific since the jQuery that is being referred to that message is Wordpress built-in script library and it’s loaded the same way on desktop or mobile, regardless of device.

I tried it on mobile devices and tablets, including iPad and I don’t see that message and the slider loads okay. Perhaps it’s just due to caches that are stored on your iPad. Could you try clearing them? Then please test it again, and test it too on other devices.

Hi there,

I tried clearing the caches but I still get the same Oops message. I’ve tried viewing the site on other devices and it seems to be just my old iPad Mini, and my client’s which is the same model/age etc.

iPad Mini

Any ideas how I can fix this?

Hi Mattew,

The model A1432 dates back to 2012 and the iOS 9.3.5 is old and I can’t find a device that still has that version. I tried it with Mac’s X Code simulation but I too can’t get an older iOS version and the slider works perfectly there. Could you try another browser on that device and test it again?

There are many fixes added after iOS 9.3.5 but unfortunately, with that model, you can’t upgrade it anymore. https://discussions.apple.com/thread/7694980. It’s similar with old windows with its old browsers, new browser technologies wouldn’t run anymore. I’m not saying it’s the case for your device, but I couldn’t confirm as I can’t find a similar device anymore.

Though again, jQuery library is not even device or OS specific, and there is no double jQuery.js from your site either to cause that error. That’s quite weird, and which is why I can only guess that it’s due to cache, so please try another browser. And I’ll continue the search if I can find a similar iOS version.
