Rev Slider not working after cornerstone update

Hi There,
I updated Cornerstone to the current version, and the Rev Slider stopped loading. I then updated the slider, and it still does not load.

More info to follow.

Thanks very much,
Nancy

Hello There,

Thanks for writing in! I have checked your site and there is a JS error on the page. It is because you have inserted an invalid JS code. Please remove this JS code from your custom JS section:

<div id="fb-root"></div>
<script>(function(d, s, id) {
  var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0];
  if (d.getElementById(id)) return;
  js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id;
  js.src = "//connect.facebook.net/en_US/sdk.js#xfbml=1&version=v2.4";
  fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs);
}(document, 'script', 'facebook-jssdk'));</script>

The correct way of integrating this code into your site can be found here:

Hope this helps. Kindly let us know.

Hi Paul,
I inserted the script and am still getting the same results. That is to say that the Rev slider is not displaying on this page:

http://brentensings.com/rev-slider-test-page/

Also, the first script above was still in the “Edit Global JavaScript” found at Custom/EditGlobal JavaScript. I took it out.
. . . still no rev slider

I also tried disabling the footer and taking out the link to Facebook. The slider is still not displaying.

Thanks so much for your help! I sincerely appreciate it!

Hi there,

I checked and there is still javascript error related to animation. Could you try creating a new slider and test it? The error looks like specific to your current one.

Plus, please provide your correct login credentials.

Thanks!

Hi there,

I accessed your website. You are using the Pro Theme and you do not have the Cornerstone, instead, you have the Pro Editor. I added a new page and also added a new Revolution Slider slide. It worked with no problem.

Please check the Secure Note for the link to the Test Page.

Thank you.

Hi Christopher,
I’m glad you got the slider to work. That said, I really do not understand your message above. What do you mean by the Pro Editor and that I do NOT have the Cornerstone?

Also, I would like the slider to be below the masthead as opposed to being a row on the home page.

Could you please tell me what I must do to fix the problem?

Thanks very much. I really appreciate your help.

Regards,
Nancy

Hi Nancy,

Thanks again for updating the thread!

For your first question regarding Pro editor, Pro theme doesn’t use cornerstone, It has its own editor called Content builder which is exactly same as cornerstone. Hope this is clear now!

To put the slider below to the master head, Just edit the page in dashboard and scroll down to the slider setting section,
In the “Slider Setting: Below Master Head” section choose your slider from dropdown you want show.

Save the page, you are done. No need to add the slider via content editor row.

Thanks

Hey There,
I am feeling very frustrated with all this. As I said at the outset, everything worked beautifully before I updated Pro and the Rev slider plugin.

Here’s a video to show you what I’ve been doing. http://screencast-o-matic.com/watch/cFnuVYDfwy

Also, please note that the slider works in preview mode.

Thanks again for your help.

Nancy

Hi Nancy,

Thank you for the screencast, its a conflict between another plugin (Form Maker Pro, I’ve tested it). We like to help you as much as we want to resolve this. Regretfully, there is nothing we can do between 3rd party plugins conflict, but to submit a report to there respective authors.

Thank you for understanding,

Thanks Friech,
That’s all good to know.

Best,
Nancy

Glad to hear it!
