Rev Slider Kills The Page?

Help.

We have finally reached the point when we are satisfied with the overall design/layout of our site, installed a Vimeo layer on the Revolution slider, everything looked good. Added in a content dock talking about how covid was affecting us, everything was good.

came back a few hours later, and suddentl the main page, none of our images were showing up. Rev slider was there, but no graphics or images were showing up on the main page…

Tried turning off the content dock. Still bad.

Deactivated content block… still bad.

Turned off Revolution slider from the edit page menu and updated page… still bad.

Went into cornerstone to look at page, everything looks good. hit the view page button, suddenly everything works.

Turned the Rev Slider back on, page graphics die. (also odd, while the graphics were dead, both computer and phone versions of Headings were available, but none of the text was available.)

Checked computer and phone, same on both.

Turned Rev Slider Off, updated… still bad.

I have to go into cornerstone, save, and then hit “view page” for it to make the site work.

Currently working, but completely lost as to why it would completely kill the page until i go into cornerstone and ‘view page’. until i do that, all the graphics on the main page are dead.

well a strange backtracking of my process and noticed ONE thing that i had changed… in Content Dock, I had checked the box to add “box shadow”, I just unchecked box shadow, and suddenly it all works again.

Completely confused, but happy its working. if anyone cares to look and maybe figure out what the hell happened, feel free to respond. Plus, im just hoping that was it and its not just a fluke.

Hi Chris,

Thanks for sharing!

That’s weird, the two has no connection and that is simply an option that enable CSS box shadow. It could be cache issue as well and just cleared upon re-saving any data. Glad it’s working now and we’ll have our eyes on it, somehow we don’t know how to reproduce it at the moment.

Thanks!

another odd one, installed Smooth Scroller, and then on mobile no links or buttons worked. Turned smooth scroll off and links worked again.

also after 3 days, no more glitches as long as i keep shadow box turned off. if anyone wanted to use mine as a debug, ill go turn the shadow box on and watch it kill the site again.

Hello Chris,

Is the issue still going on? This could be caused by a 3rd party plugin. Kindly temporarily disable the Page Endurance Cache in Settings > General first. And then you could test for a plugin conflict. Other plugin aside from Smooth Scroller might be affecting this. You can do this by deactivating all third party plugins, and seeing if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.

Regards.
