Rev Slider hero above masthead blank

I’m having an issue with a hero image showing blank when the website loads. Sometimes if you give it time (30-60 seconds) it will show up. Also sometimes when you switch tabs, then switch back the hero will show up.

This seems to have started happening within the last several weeks, not sure if it coincides with an update.

One note: there is a hero both above and below the masthead, however there is no problem with the hero below the masthead.

Any help?

Hey @AndyDaupert,

There’s no error in the console so the issue could be the sheer size of the image. It’s 2.5+ MB. Would you mind trying a lighter image like 500kb or less?

If that does not resolve the issue, please give us correct login credentials. I could not log in using the one provided.

Also, confirm that you have tried the following basic troubleshooting so we know the issue is not being caused by a third-party factor.

  1. Ensure everything is up to date according to our version compatibility list at https://theme.co/docs/version-compatibility. Please follow the best practices when updating your theme and plugins. See https://theme.co/docs/product-updates for more details.

  2. If you’re using a caching plugin, clear all caches including browser cache then deactivate your caching plugin and other optimization plugins.

  3. If you’re using a CDN, please clear the CDN’s cache and disable optimization services.

  4. Test for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third party plugins, and seeing if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.

  5. Switch to the parent theme if you’re using a child theme.

Thank you for your reply, and apologies about the login, I should have double checked. I have changed the password and will provide it to you.

As to the items you listed;

  1. the theme and all plugins are up to date.
  2. we are not using a caching plugin.
  3. we are not using a CDN.
  4. I previously deactivated all plugins testing for conflicts, none found.
  5. I had not previously switched to main theme, but tried it just now, it did not fix the issue.

As far as the size of the banner image, it’s only 76.6kB.

Please edit your slider. Make sure that the display of the image element in the timeline is correct. And we recommend that you insert the image as a background image of your slide.
