Responsive Text Settings Is Broken since Latest Update

While editing a page in the Content Builder (Pro), when you click the gear icon and select Responsive Text, then add a new Responsive Text setting, and then add another one, it changes the settings for the first one you added. WTH?

In a related matter…you guys really need to do a comprehensive tutorial on what are the BEST PRACTICES for making text responsive across an entire website. I consider myself an advanced web designer who mostly understands responsive text, but in reading the Staff’s suggestions in this forum when answering questions about responsive text, I now find myself confused. REM EM PX Responsive text settings, selectors. Holy Christ. If I’m this confused, I can only imagine the overwhelm a beginner is feeling.

Hi there,

Thanks for posting in.

I can confirm this responsive text issue on my installation, I added to our issue tracker and to inform our developer.

Applying responsive text to the entire site isn’t recommended, it should be only used in some cases. What element or part of the site do you wish to be responsive? Those settings should work but, some elements has its own local styling that could be from the theme or other plugins, so even if you define a global setting for font, it can still be overridden by another styling. Maybe if I can gather more information about what you’re trying to do, be as specific as possible, then maybe we can start the explanation from there to prevent more confusion

Thanks!

I am having the same issue. Help - how do we fix this?

Hi There,

Thank you for writing in, this issue has already been fixed with the latest release. Please update to the latest version.

Updating Your Themes and Plugins

Cheers!

I have updated to the latest release and I can confirm that while, in fact, we can enter responsive text settings once again, we still have the problem that when applying a responsive text setting to a V2 element, such as Headline, the changes are not reflected on the preview, as they are with the Classic elements. The only way to see the changes is to save and then refresh the page. This is not an ideal way to work as it slows down development considerably.

Hi there,

Thanks for reporting this.

I can confirm this in my local install and I have added this to our issue tracker for our development team to look into.

Thank you.
