Replacing Cornerstone

I am looking to use a frontend editor for some changes but with “pro” theme active there is a conflict with cornerstone. (and it wasn’t loading anyway). What other would you suggest that works with pro and that can retain the same content as is.

Thanks. Ralph

Hello Ralph,

Thanks for writing in.

Cornerstone is actually comes native to Pro as the Pro Builder that is why you do not need a separate installation for Cornerstone. You can build the pages using the Pro builder which has all the features offered in Cornestone.

Hope this helps.

THankyou Jade… will it retain the current content and layout?

Hello @Ralphmyes,

Yes, Pro editor will retain the current content and layout. As long as the page/post has not been edited outside in Cornerstone like the WP editor, Pro editor should be able to load the current content and layout.

Hope this helps.

Looks like it has been edited outside cornerstone. Now what? Do I have to rebuild the entire page inside pro?

Hello @Ralphmyes,

if you edit the shortcodes manually outside Pro Builder/Cornerstone, it will break important serialized data used by the builder. Once this is broken you might not be able to see any content of the page when you load it in the builder. You can restore from a backup if you have any. If not, you will have to rebuild the page.

You may also try loading the page again in the builder if you’re seeing any content. If you are, try saving the page and it should be okay.

Hope this helps.

Thankyou very much everyone for your help. Makes complete sense.

You’re most welcome, Ralph.
