Replace Classic Slider With a Full Width Image on Mobile

Hi.

I’ve read that the classic slider is not responsive on mobile devices when viewed in portrait. It basically crops off the left & right portion on the slider image. And I have the slider placed at the top of the home page followed by texts right below the slider. If I do a display:none on the slider for mobile, then the above fold is all text which is not what I want.

So I was wondering if it’s possible to replace the slider with a full width static image when browsing on a mobile phone?

Thanks

Hi @corsaunelec,

Thanks for writing in.

You can do that by adding two rows within that section, and each row has the slider and the image. Then inspect each row and go to Customize section and find the Hide During Breakpoints option. Then hide the row with a slider from mobile and hide the row with the image from a desktop.

Hope this helps.

Rad, I am trying to do the same thing,

I want to show the slider while on a desktop, but display and image on mobile.

But, I do not understand how to identify the section that where the slider is located.

I am working with the nonprofit demo, so the slider was already set to be above the masthead and that is set up in the “normal” page editing mode.

When I go to edit the page in cornerstone, I have the following sections, INTRO, MISSION STATEMENT, DETAILS, STAFF, etc. I cannot see anywhere that I can add a row to the section that is above the masthead where the slider is located.

Can you help me understand this?

Thanks,

Hey @Jerryminer,

Thanks for the additional info. The slider that is added using the Slider Above or Below Masthead option could not be edited with Cornerstone as they are not part of the content area. Not to worry though as Slider Revolution has its own mobile visibility feature. And, you can set an alternative image on mobile too.

Hope that helps.

Thanks, I knew there had to be a way, just wasn’t finding it.

You are most welcome.
