Removing right border in mobile view

I have assigned a border-right to a couple columns on my homepage. I need them to go away on tablets and smartphones.

How can I make that possible? Seems easy enough. I created a class with the properties to make it display:none; and then assigned the class in custom css in the Customize portion of my page but it is still displaying. Please advise. Thank you.
