Removing date from SERP meta description

Hi, first time posting - I noticed this question in a previous post but there was no answer.

In search engine results my blog posts all include the date in the meta description.
I use the Yoast plugin and the “show date” options are turned off (same problem for 2 of my x theme ethos sites). I’m confident it’s the theme because I use the same plugins for another wordpress theme and don’t encounter the issue.

Is there any way I can make sure google doesn’t display the date on my blog posts? Thanks in advance.

Hello @jstangl25,

Thanks for asking. :slight_smile:

I think it might coming from a custom script or 3rd party plugin as X Theme page type doesn’t have that meta-data. Can you please share website URL for us to take a closer look?

Thanks.

Hi @prasant, thanks for the reply.

My website is here

Hi there,

Please go to X > Theme Options > Blog and disabled the Post Meta feature:

That will strip out all the date HTML code and you will have no Date at the search results.

Thank you.

@christopher.amirian,

Seems like an easy fix!

Thanks for your help. I’ve done as you said and I’ll follow up once I see results on SERP.
