Is there a way to remove the icons on an embedded YouTube video?

Currently, there is not option available to remove those info in a embedded youtube video. There used to be a showinfo parameter but it has been deprecated.

You might want to check some other video source such as the paid version of Vimeo.
Can I get a cleaner look by using the player directly in the theme? I guess that is to say if it is self hosted.

For self hosted videos, you just need to upload your video into your server and get the direct path to your video location.
Then you can set the video URL path inside your video element.
