Remove Spacing from Global Blocks

According to the KB: https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/global-blocks/24723 There should be a button in the Layout section called “Remove Spacing”.

However, I am unable to find this Remove Spacing button.

Did this get removed in a recent update?

How can I remove all the extra spacing that is added to my global blocks so they will nest properly without weird spacing issues?

Hello Aaron,

Thanks for writing in! You are not seeing the margin and padding options on your section, row and column settings? If you don’t see those options, you need to turn on the Advanced Mode by going to the Settings > Preferences > Advanced Mode

Hope this helps.

I have the advanced mode enabled.

In my global block, I have:

margin 0px 0px 0px 0px.
padding 0px 0px 0px 0px

Set for Section, Row, And Column.

But the content within the global block still has spacing added in the Section.

So when I nest a global block inside my content, it adds space.

According to your documentation at: https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/global-blocks/24723
“Do Global Blocks come with any extra markup?
Global Blocks will always be wrapped in a Section, Row, and Column. Because Global Blocks need to support whole sections, this means that all of the markup that comes with a Section is always output around your content. If you wish to create a Global Block that is just a singular element as mentioned previously, you will need to make sure to remove all of the spacing (e.g. margins, padding, et cetera) that comes with these containing elements. You can quickly remove all spacing from containing elements by clicking the Remove Spacing button at the bottom of your Sections in the Layout pane.

There is no “Remove Spacing” button in the layout pane:

Hello Aaron,

Please edit your global block and in your row settings, disable the Global Container.
