Remove 'noindex' tag

Dear Apex,

I’m admin for the page www.rudolfnilsen.no, which for some reason isn’t being indexed by Google because of a ‘noindex’ meta tag. I have done all in my powers to understand how to remove this, but none of the methods offered online have helped.

I have tried unticking the “request search engines not to index” alternative in Wordpress settings, have tried updating permalinks, have tried asking google for indexing through Search Console.

Is there any way to remove the ‘noindex’ tag manually, or do you have any other possible workarounds?

Best,
Pål

Hi Pal,

Thank you for writing in, by default unchecking the Discourage search engines from indexing this site option under Settings > Reading should remove that <meta name="robots" content="noindex,follow"/> on your site.

Please make sure your clear all caching features the site might have. If the issue persists, please do testing for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third party plugins, and seeing if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time. It could be one of your plugins is adding that noindex, follow meta.

Let us know how it goes!
