Remove Link From Button

Hi,

Using some of the button elements, is there a way to remove the link entirely? For instance looking at the classic button (or classic prompt, etc), anything that has a button associated with it. If I make the href blank, it still adds the anchor # to the end. So if someone were to click it they go to the top of the page.

Thanks.

Hello @egraham1225,

Thanks for asking. :slight_smile:

Looks like you might be using Clasic Button element. Please try using V2 button element. Here is a video walkthrough. https://screencast.com/t/xvmXjVdp

Thanks.

Thanks. In your video that seems to work fine, but when I did the same thing it still shows the hand when you hover over the button. So it looks clickable and could cause confusion.

I am essentially trying to go this route so I don’t have to make images.

Hi there,

Please kindly add an HTML Class to the button element, for example, notclickable. In Classic Button you can do it by scrolling down in the options to find the proper place:

If you use the V2 button element you will need to first click on the Customize tab at the top section of the options, then add the HTML Class:

After that you can simply go to X > Launch > Options > CSS and add the CSS code below:

a.notclickable.x-anchor-button,
a.notclickable.x-btn {
    pointer-events: none;
}

From now on whenever you add the notclickable class to a button it will lose the linking functionality.

Hope it helps.
