Redirection set up

I want to make a link with our company website that isn’t associated with any existing page on our website - we just made it up - point to an existing page on our website, i.e. have e3EnergyEvolved.com/call redirect to e3EnergyEvolved.com/discovery-call which is an existing page on our website, whereas the first link isn’t. Is that possible & can you set that up?

We have the redirection plug-in, but each time I keep trying to use it to set this up, it’s sending the link e3EnergyEvolved.com/call to a 404 site error, so I don’t know if I’m doing something wrong, or if what I’m trying to do is not possible. Can you help? Thanks!

Hi there,

Hope you’re well today.

Were you able to get this sorted? I tried to check the call page and it is correctly redirected to the discovery-call page.

Please try clearing your site’s cache or load the page on private browsing mode.

Hi, thank you - yes, I was able to get that to work, after I emailed you! But, what I noticed which is strange - it works not if you type the link into the brower, but if the link is written in copy on a Facebook post and you click on it, it goes to a page error. So a pre-existing typed version of the link in copy doesn’t redirect, but typing it into your browser does. Any idea what might be causing that?

Hi again,

That is actually normal because redirection is only going to redirect a link to another but if the redirected link does not have an actual page created, it will show as 404 when you share the link to social sites because technically, that page does not exist. You are merely just sending a user to another page.
