Recommended optimiser plugin

Hello there,

We are trying to improve the performance of this site: https://moylescourt.co.uk/

Can you recommend an optimiser plugin that is compatible with Pro? A couple I have tried so far either prevent Cornerstone from loading or the minification crushes JS that stops certain front end elements from working.

Also, we would like to try and remove any excessive DOM headers - we are mostly using plugins bundled with Pro.

Any suggestions will be greatly received!

Cheers

Hello Spencer,

Thanks for writing to us.

Regretfully we have not tested such plugins on my end, I would suggest you please test it on your end. There are several reasons for your website loading speed for example

  1. Choose a better web hosting provider
  2. Reduce image sizes
  3. Minify JS and CSS files
  4. Use advanced caching mechanisms with a caching plugin
  5. Use a CDN
  6. Clean up WordPress database etc.

You can check our doc to learn more about how to improve website performance.

Please note in case you want to optimize the page speed I would advise you to hire a 3rd party developer to help you with this or you can avail of our newly launched product called Boost, where we help you with your site speed optimization.

Thanks for understanding

Hi @prakash_s,

I hope you had a good weekend

  1. Funnily enough, our current provider (Siteground) offers an optimiser plugin but it breaks Cornerstone. Otherwise they are an excellent provider and we haven’t had a problem with other Cornerstone sites hosted with them. The DOM header issue does persist across all sites, though.
  2. I have swapped our .jpgs for .webp
  3. Minifying also breaks Cornerstone and some front-end elements, so I am being cautious with these. What core Cornerstone files should be excluded from minification?
  4. We do have caching installed now.
  5. CDN may be an option - it depends on the client’s willingness to pay for it.
  6. I have run a cleaner to remove a lot of old data, revisions etc.

Thanks for the links, I will work my way through them.

Regards,

Spencer
