Recommended backup plugin

Hi,

I have always been using Updraftplus backup on my wordpress sites but it seems it is not a recommended plugin to use with X pro. I also noticed it does not backup styling on pages when I revert to an older version of a page so I guess that could be a reason for it.

My question is what wordpress backup plugin you recommend?

We don’t recommend any 3rd Party plugin for this. I would suggest you go through the following article on how to migrate a site, which might help you.

Thanks for this, but it does seem like a lot of work for backing up a site? We’re not looking to migrate anything, we just want to have the possibility of updating plugins, the theme, wordpress etc. without the fear of breaking of the website, or at least be able to easily roll back if it would. Or do you mean that we should use this and export before we do any major changes?

Hello Pontus,

The recommended plugin is there in the documentation you can use the All-in-One WP Migration plugin to create a backup. It would take backup of your wp-content folder that includes theme, plugins, uploads folders and it would also take backup of your database.

If you want to take a backup of all WordPress files, you need to manually copy and zip all the files and then take a backup of the database.
