I read all the forums and added the suggested code but still can’t see excerpt and read more on my recent posts.

it doesnt work. Images of recent posts dissapeard and the excerpt shows only on the last blog post and there is no read more tag.

I have created a private test page (see secure note) and I can confirm the issue on your end.

Could you please try disabling your other 3rd party plugins and test this issue further. If the issue is resolved, then you can activate your plugins one by one to see which plugin cause this issue. Also make sure to purge your server cache before testing.

If you’re still having issues, please provide us with your FTP credentials in a secure note to check your issue further.

I diactivated plugins and it didn’t work.

Hi There,

I’ve changed the shortcode to:

[x_recent_posts show_excerpt="true" count="4" orientation="vertical"]

And also comment out this custom CSS under Theme Options > CSS:

/* .x-recent-posts .x-recent-posts-img{
  padding-bottom: 0;
} */

Everything is working perfectly now:

Thanks, it still doesnt work on the home page… There is no read more tag and no excerpt.

It does show the excerpt now. But it is too long… I would like to have 3 lines of text and read more tag. Hoe can I achieve this. Thank you.

Hi There,

You can manage the excerpt length in the X > Theme Options > Blog > Excerpt Length

But if you use the suggested plugin (Display Posts) you can use the excerpt_length parameter to manage the excerpt length of the shortcode.
