Recent blog posts does not show

Hi!

I updated WP and X a couple of days ago and now my start page does not show the latest three blog posts.

Wordpress 4.8.2
X theme 5.2.2

Any ideas?

Thanks for posting in.

X theme has no connection with recent posts queries, it only displayed what’s supplied on it so there should be no different before and after updates. But, I like to further check this issue if it’s really related to X theme. Would you mind providing more details of the issue? What posts should be displayed and what posts are instead displaying? And please provide your admin login credentials in a secure note as I need to compare it to your existing posts in the admin.

Screenshots for comparison are going to help too :wink:

Hi!

First off, I do not get an email when there is an update to my support posts. What do I need to do to get that?

The text that says “SENASTE FRÅN BLOGGEN” means “latest from the blog” in Swedish. That is where I show the three latest blog posts. This is, if I remember correctly, a module that you can drag and drop in Cornerstone. It has always worked before. I will send my login credentials in a secure note.

The blog posts are a module called ‘Classic recent posts’. I have other elements with the ‘classic’ prefix. These elements does not really work properly after the latest update of X.

  1. The animations in the ‘Classic features list’ element in the head of the website does not work.
  2. When the fade effect is activated on the ‘Classic recent posts’ element the blog posts do not show at all.
  3. I changed the ‘Classic counter’ elements to ‘Counter’ elements, because the classic did not work. The ‘Counter’ elements does not work either. It just shows 0 and the numbers do not count up to the final number I have set.

Ah, thanks for the clarification, I thought it was a blog page. But the recent posts element in your home page is displaying from my end. And I think, the reason your animation isn’t working is due to CloudFlare, would you mind disabling CSS and JS minification then purge the cache? Then please provide your CF login credentials as well so I could pause it while testing and turn it on again right after.

Hi!

I have switched the ‘classic recent posts’ element to the new one. Now it works, but not if I activate the fade effect.

None of the fade effects or animations work in Cornerstone, either in backend or on the public website. How come?

The Cloudflare plugin I have in Wordpress is not active. Does this matter? I logged in to Cloudflare and checked, and the CSS and JavaScript minify functions are not activated. I purged cache for all files, no difference. I attach the login credentials to Cloudflare in a secure note.

Hi,

It doesn’t matter anymore as it has been deactivated.

I checked and I can see there is still something interfering with the animation scripts. It is still not being triggered.

Can you try testing for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third party plugins, and seeing if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.

Hi,

I deactivated and/or deleted all plugins I knew I do not use for the website. Did not help. I also deactivated Visual Composer, which needs to be activated for my old content. I have used X since long before Cornerstone, so some blog posts with very good SEO were built in Visual Composer which X came with back then.

Anyways, nothing helped. Still cannot see any animations or fade effects in backed nor on the public website.

Another issue: This page does not show my before/after sliders which worked before the last update - http://www.markusp.se/retuschering/
Can you see what is wrong here? It used to show like 10 different sliders with images before/after retouching.

It’s a real pain in the ass having to rebuild the whole website for every major update of X, but I guess that’s just the nature of Wordpress with all the combinations of plugins etc…

Hi there,

Your builder is not even loading because of CloudFlare and RocketLoader. I logged in to your CF account and there are 3 entries in Page Rules, and I can’t add more. You should have this rule

*.markusp.se/x/* *.markusp.se/*cornerstone*

Or

*markusp.se/x/* *markusp.se/*cornerstone*

Then once added, you must purge everything under Cache section.

Once this is done, we’ll continue checking. I could do it, but maybe your existing rules are important.

Ok, I have deleted one of the page rules. Is that enough for you to enter the needed rule? I give you my permission to enter a new page rule you find necessary.

Could you try the animation again? It’s displaying now and the counters are now counting.
