I am looking for a more in depth explanation on how to set up Recaptcha with Form 7. I tried to follow the instructions that google provides but I am looking more for something step by step. I am confused. Thanks to anyone who can help. I was able to put the site and get the API codes or whatever they are but google does not explain well what to do following. Ultimately I am trying to weed out spam.

Thanks this looks good and I will try to follow it. Quick question, if we already have an API key to make the Map work, which incidentally is on our same contact page where the form 7 is, then do I need a new API key or should I use the one I have for the map or are the APIs to be separate or if there are two is there a conflict on same page? Thanks!

The API Map is different, you need to generate API for your Map

OK the last step has me stuck, it says “Lastly, put a placeholder for a reCAPTCHA widget ([recaptcha]) into your contact form content.”

Though I don’t know how to do this. I do not know where to put the tag on this page. It is a cornerstone page and I have tried adding it to CSS and Class and just don’t know where to put it. Thanks! Please be specific in where it goes, see private message here for contact form page

Hello there,

You can add the [recaptcha] shortcode by going to your contact form directly.

Kindly open your contact form in Contact > Contact Forms, then simply click reCAPTCHA.

There you will be able to see options to choose from. Once done, click Insert Tag, then save.
