Read More link not showing after excerpt for Cornerstone created posts

I am running into the exact issue as described in this post thread.

The reply was from Nov 17 and said that this was a known bug which would be fixed soon. I have implemented the solution described in the link but I am curious if this bug has not been fixed yet or if I have run into some new bug. For your reference or debugging, detailed information is in the secure note below.

Hello Misha,

Thanks for writing in!

Please be advised that the excerpts are generated dynamically from the first 55 words of the post contents. If you use Cornerstone in creating the post contents, all will be discarded and no excerpt will be generated. You will need to insert a manual excerpt for the post items so that there will be an excerpt displayed in the the blog index. Once you inserted a manual excerpt, the read more link may not display.

I have checked your blog index and I am seeing the read more link. Did you added some custom code to resolve your issue?

Kindly let us know.

I have just added the Read More link to the manual excerpt for now. But I have to hard code the link address and if that changes for some reason, the link breaks. Is there not a way to automatically put the Read More link even in the case of manual excerpt?

Thanks.

Hi Misha,

Sorry about that, yes this is still a bug until now. Please continue doing adding the “Read More” link manually to manual excerpt for now.

Thank you for understanding,

Got it. Would be great if you can put in a word to get it prioritized for resolution. Thanks.

You’re welcome.
