Read more button on panels

Hey there,
following situation: got tabbed content with different length of text in the panels http://prntscr.com/ngdce9 and http://prntscr.com/ngdcrt
how can I place a read more tag to make all my panels the same size initially and expand on click of the read more buttons?

That would require custom development which will be related to CSS and javascript. A good example is this

I recommend contacting a developer for this kind of implementation, especially you’re adding it within the tab which may conflict the existing hide/show animation.

what about the existing read more functionality, is there anything included in the xtheme, a shortcode?

There is no existing read more functionality in X but I have added this to our feature request list so that it will be considered in future development.
