Read more button hides on blog if manual excerpt added

Hi there,

I found a solution a while back in the forum for adding a ‘read more’ button to blog posts (may have been this: Manually Add Read More Button).
But it only appears when the excerpt is automatically generated - not manually added as you can see here:

Could you shed some light on to how I can include it on those, too, please?

Please check this https://wpmayor.com/add-read-link-manual-excerpts/, almost similar. And you’ll have to add your own button the custom code.
