Reactivating an Old X-Theme Site

G’Day.

I have a site built with X-Theme ver 4.3.4
The license for this site was deactivated and transferred to another site.

I now want to re-license this site with an unused license, and then update it.
But my site is saying that I need an API key and for the love of me I can’t find it - is this no longer available.

Also, once I am able to re-license it, will I have any issues with a direct update of the theme?

Thanks for reaching out.

It’s no longer applicable even if you didn’t transfer the license. You’ll have to manually update it if you’re coming from the very old theme even if you buy a new license. It’s just that our server validation process changed from API to Purchase/License Code long time ago :slight_smile:

Yes, the issue is updating it manually regardless of the license since it’s very old. But once you have updated it manually, the next updates are doable through automatic updates.

Thanks Rad for the quick response.

So by manually updating I would need to

  1. Download the latest version
  2. Extract the zip file (on my PC)
  3. Upload all those files to the wp-content/themes/x/ folder on the hosting server

Correct?

Okay, no need to answer my previous post as I just gone thru he Knowledgebase and found the appropriate article for manually updating the theme.
Fingers crossed that this works on my site.

You’re most welcome Michael! Yes, sorry I thought you wish to stay on older version but still get updated in the future.
