Re-install Xtheme

Hi there,
I am trying to re-install Xtheme but it doesn’t work. I get messages like:
Kan bestand niet kopiëren (cant copy file in english) x/buddypress/members/activate.php
and other errors. Please tell me what to do or how to re-install.
I will send you the website and passwords in a secure note.
regards, H

Hello Hemla,

Thanks for asking.

This looks like a file and folder permission problem while installing the Theme. I suggest you to please double check file permission and try installing the theme again.

Thanks.

Hi Prasant,
I installed the theme, jay! Just still one thing missing, and that was the reason why I wanted to re-install the theme … Cornerstone!
It’s not in the X-theme extensions, where can I find it? Should I install it seperately? Or?
best regards, H

I have to install Cornerstone manually … for some reason it didn’t come with the theme again. Can you please tell where to find Cornerstone (link? in secure note?) that goes with this licence of Xtheme and fit nicely into the extensions?
Thanks in advance!
H

Hey Helma,

X will install the correct version of Cornerstone by going to WP Admin Menu > X. An error is encountered however because the Cornerstone folder already exists in your plugins folder. Please login to your server and got to wp-content/plugins and delete the cornerstone folder. Please then go to X as suggested above for re-installation of Cornerstone.

Thanks.

Hi there,

There is also another problem … I don’t see the normal possibilities of X theme options in the customizer … can you please check the website to see how this is possible?
I think in some way I have to make a clean start cause something is definitely not working right!
Thank so much, hope to hear from you soon,
H

Hi,
So this is what is happening …
• I remove the Cornerstone folder from the server, and I re-install the Xtheme.
• I still don’t see the Cornestone extension in X extensions
• But the Cornerstone folder is back in the server … not in my dashboard though!
Can you tell me what is happening here, cause it is starting to feel like groundhog day
Best regards,
H

Hi Helma

Thanks for updating. May be the Cornerstone plugin has been installed partially or some of it’s files may be corrupted. I would suggest you to delete Cornerstone folder from your server (/wp-content/plugins/cornerstone).

Then download the latest version of X theme from your Envato account and unzip x.zip file. Then you should be able to locate Cornerstone.zip file under (x/framework/). You can unzip the cornerstone.zip file and then upload directly to your server (/wp-content/plugins/cornerstone) then head over to your WordPress backend and see if it has been detected correctly.

If you’re still having issues, provide us with your FTP credentials in a secure note to check your issue further.

Thanks!

Yes! I have rolled up my sleeves and I think everything is working now! Thanks! H

Glad to know !

Thanks!
