Question for video in header as a background

I have seen that I can…

  1. Use a Content Area Element and Revolution Slider
  2. Use the Video Element in a Container and either embed or use the player
  3. User revolution slider above the mast…
  4. Use the header builder background/video selection in a Bar or Container

I couldn’t get number 4 to work, is that the intended use…to put a local url in for the video source?

Hi Clefler,

Thank you for writing in! When you say “local url” do you mean a path/directory on your local computer? No, that’s not how it works, you need to upload your video first on your site or hosting site and get the video URL. Try the sample video below.

Hope that shed some lights,

No I meant using it as you said but couldn’t get it to work for some reason.
I made sure there was no overlay on top of it.
The only way I managed to get it working was the first 3 options.

Hi Clefler,

Thank you for the clarification, I did check that site below but its header is standard. Would you mind providing the right site URL so we can take a closer look?

Cheers!

I found out that it does work but doesn’t preview in the header builder, i see it playing in the page builder that is associated with that header.

I was wondering how to use the video element instead though as it has more features. Is it possible to get the video element in a content area that is behind other containers so that it acts as a background?

Hi clefler,

This will require further development/customization which is regretfully beyond our support scope.

Thanks for your understanding.

No problem, but just want to make sure I understand. I think what I’m really asking is for a box or container to be directly behind another box or container which isn’t how the builder works correct?

Hi Clefler,

Yes, that is correct. It is feasible but it will require a complex CSS and custom markups. Regretfully that would fall outside of the scope of support that we can offer.

Actually, that should work, maybe there is something in front of your Bar/Container that covers the video? Or a 3rd party plugin that makes the bg-video not to play on the builder, but works on the actual page.

Thanks,

i did get background video working in a bar, thanks for the help!

Glad to hear that.
