Question concerning ads

[yingfuli]

Hi,

Don’t know how to explain it but I’ll give it a try. I am looking for a way to add a section or row to a page that is visible when visited but disappears after a set amount of seconds. I know that several news websites use this feature for ads and I’m looking for something like it for a client who has certain offers from time to time and doesn’t want to use annoying pop-ups.

Anyone know of a plugin for this or perhaps how to accomplish it in Pro?

Thanks in advance, guys!

Hi There,

It could be done by custom JS:

jQuery(document).ready(function($){
	setTimeout(function(){
		$(".ad-section").fadeOut();
	}, 5000);
});

After that add the ad-section to the class field of your section.

Works nicely. Is it also possible to have it appear on scroll and then have it disappear after a few seconds?

Hi there,

Thanks for writing in! Regretfully this isn’t a feature offered by X. It could be possible with custom development, but this would be outside the scope of support we can offer. You may wish to consult a developer to assist you with this. X is quite extensible with child themes, so there are plenty of possibilities.

Thanks for understanding. Take care!

Could you at least point me to some website of plugin even?

Hey There,

You can search through the official repository here: https://wordpress.org/plugins/search/ads/

As an alternative you could look for someone with basic coding knowledge who can alter template files and embed the ads for you at the exact position where you would like them to be.
