Putting the nav bar behind other elements on the page?

Hello,

I want to create a sticky side menu for social media on the side of my page in addition to the navbar I currently have up top.

So far, in the header editor, I’ve just added a second bar with a transparent background and am planning on stacking the social media icons on top of each other on the right. Right now, I just have instagram up there, and I like how it looks, but whenever the bar (which is mostly invisible) goes over any buttons or fields on the rest of the page, it makes them not clickable. Which is an issue because I’ll be adding more icons and this invisible bar will probably cover half the page.

Is there a way to put the bar behind what’s on the rest of the page? Perhaps with z-index?

Here is the website for reference: https://macymaxson.com/

Hi Laura,

Thank you for writing in, please remove your second bar from the Top, and add that as a Right Bar instead.

By default Bar’s z-index are higher than content, so that should not be the problem, but if you need to adjust the bar’s z-index you can do so, please inspect your bar and see the z-index option.

Hope it helps,
Cheers!

Thanks for writing back to me.

Is there a way to use a top navbar and a right navbar simultaneously? When I tried that before, it seemed I could only have one or the other, and I would like both.

If not, I will keep doing what I’m doing and use the z-index option you showed above to fix the issues I’m having.

(read previous posts first)

I lowered the z index of the social media bar (with the transparent background) to 1000 and raised the z index of the rows and columns in the top section of the page to 2000, yet the buttons in those rows and columns are still not responsive when overlapping with the social media bar.

So it appears it’s not working. Can you help?

Hi Laura,

Yes, you can use two different locations such as one bar on the Top area and another on the Left area.

I have checked your header setup right now and all the links are clickable. Were you able to get it sorted?

Hope this helps.
