Proper way to have social icons open in new tab?

if i could just find where they are located in the code and add a target="_blank"

Hello William,

Thanks for posting in! I have logged in to your site and I found out that you have added a custom x_social_global() function in your child theme’s functions.php file. You are almost correct excerpt that you have inserted "target="_blank" rel="noopener". The correct one should only be target="_blank" rel="noopener". The extra quotation mark at the beginner is what have caused why the links did not work.

Please edit your code and remove those extra quotation marks.

Thank you so much. Yikes, a parenthesis in the wrong place could have taken down my whole site. I copy that verbatim from a similar post from last year somewhere on this forum.
