Product Variation Images not changing

Hi,

I am having an issue where my product variation images are not being shown when changing the variation from dropdowns. The variations all have the proper settings, and the image change was working at some point, and now it is not. I have tried using the default product-image.php from woocommerce plugin folder and put that in my child theme, and that fixes the issue, but the display is different and not what I want. This does show me however that the issue is with the product-image.php xtheme file because it works fine when not using that file.

Hey @Fyclabs,

I see you’re not using the latest X and Cornerstone version. That could be the problem but to be sure, please do the following:

  1. Ensure everything is up to date

  2. If you’re using a caching plugin, clear all caches including browser cache then deactivate your caching plugins and other optimization plugins.

  3. If you’re using a CDN, please clear the CDN’s cache and disable optimization services.

  4. Test for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third party plugins, and seeing if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.

  5. Remove custom CSS, Javascript and templates.

Please do all of the above and we’ll investigate if the issue is with X and not caused by third party factors.

Hi,

Sorry, I forgot to mention I created a test environment with my site and updated everything and it still did not work. Currently it only has 4 active plugins: Cornerstone, Woocommerce, Woocommerce Custom Tabs (necessary to view product page), and WPBakery Visual Composer.

Seems possible to be an issue with the Custom Tabs plugin since the variation image change still doesn’t occur, but it was working fine with that plugin at some point, before any updates, and can’t really test without that plugin because the product page shows an error when deactivated.

Did another test to replace the single product file and deactivated the Custom Tabs plugin, but still did not fix the issue, so its not a conflict with that plugin

Hi There,

Would you mind switching to parent X Theme and see if that resolves the issue? If not, please downgrade your Woocommerce to version 3.2.3 because that is the compatible version with X as of now.

Changing to parent X theme breaks my dropdowns on the page, and downgrading to Woocommerce 3.2.3 did not fix.

Hey There,

I am guessing that WooCommerce Custom Tab is the culprit. Will you please switch to Twenty Seventeen theme to make sure that this plugin is the cause of the issue?

By the way, since your site is live, I would recommend that you create a staging site. This is very useful because you can test drive any X updates in the staging area, do the customizations and troubleshooting without disrupting your live site. Once everything is perfect, you can easily and flawlessly proceed the update in the live site. To know how to create a staging area, please check out these articles:

As mentioned above, I have a test environment where I am making these changes to diagnose the issue already. I just activated twentyseventeen theme with the custom tabs plugin still active and the variation image changes, so not an issue with the Custom Tabs plugin; just does not work with X theme, so it seems to be an issue with X.
