Problems updating to Pro 6.0.anythingsofar

Hi There!
So, the update seems to wipe out my website every time…sometimes making it unusable, sometimes making the dashboard unaccessible

  1. I’ve done multiple resets of my staging site, which works flawlessly with the current 5. version.
  2. I’ve deactived, deleted, and reinstalled 6.0.7
  3. I’ve cleared the caches in my browser and hosting (Flywheel)

When I update:

  1. My css typography is no longer reflected
  2. I cannot access certain areas in the admin dashboard

The site is:

I’m going to add a secure note to my staging site

Alright, I just went through the plugins and found, of all things, woocommerce is cause the problem with accessing the dashboard. That problem is sorted, and I’ll send them the report. But deactivating plugins did not fix the CSS issue.

Hey @jkais,

Thanks for the information. Can you please downgrade your PHP version to PHP 8.0 and then reactivate the WooCommerce plugin? I am seeing your custom CSS in the Global options by the way.

Which part of the code is not applied to the site when WooCommerce plugin is active?

Best Regards.

Thanks for getting back so quickly! So I think it was in the fonts options somehow when upgrading the the theme, global become set to “inherit”…? I selected the font there, and things have slowly been improving  I am currently downgrading my php…

I rolled it back to 7.4 (flywheel only lets you do the latest or the last you were…or you can get one of their team to do it)…anyway, going back to 7.4 did it! Fixed the woocommerce crashing. Thank you again!

One related last thing: In the past I could select Open Sans Condensed as a font option…it is no longer there? Here is a pic of it being selected in the last 5. version

It no longer appears as an option, whether font manager is enabled or disabled

Maybe that is why it changed to “inherit”…?

Anyway, is there a way I can add this typeface back?

Hey @jkais,

Please disable the Font Manager so that you can select the Open Sans font family.

Hope this helps.

Hi There, “Open Sans Condensed” is a different font…available in 5. but I can’t see it in 6

As I said in my previous (too long) question  I tried with font manager enabled and disabled and it does not appear either in the family or weight pulldown.

Here if 5. you can see it is available

Hey @jkais,

Yes, I cannot also find the Open Sans Condensed in the new version. Just want to let you know that Open Sans Condensed cannot be search in the Google fonts. I suspect that Google fonts remove it from their directory.

Alternatively, you can add custom fonts and upload the Open San Condensed and we recommend to upload the .woff files.

Hope that helps.

Thank you. So GOOGLE is the source of sorry for me. (lol!)

  1. They discontinued a font
  2. That font API was grandfathered into the older version it seems, as I never uploaded
  3. Since the font was not there the v6 updated gave it an empty selection.
  4. The empty selection defaulted to Times New Roman or such…
  5. and my old css wouldn’t work as expected because it was designed with the other…

Fun!

It sent me down the rabbit trail…
But after looking for a new typeface, I found one I like even better.

Thank you for your detective work and helpfulness…!

Hey @jkais,

You’re welcome! If you have any other concerns or clarifications regarding our theme features, feel free to open up a new thread.

Thank you.
